Did you give it a rinse in fresh water after the swim? Not sure if the minute concentration of chlorine would affect the rubber, but why take a chance? Rinse. I did not do . Also note that if you get your watch in pools, saunas, lakes, the ocean, etc. you should thoroughly rinse it off in the sink to get the salt, chlorine, sand, dirt and other muck off of it.

One question I would ask though, is why there is a caption that says "Don’t swim with this Speedmaster Calibre 321, though" under a photo of the current 321 Speedmaster. That watch, when new or correctly serviced at least is water resistance certified to 50m so is no less resistant than the std Moonwatches.

I know chlorine is bad for gold but what about other materials or the bezel? We looked at some watches and the girl caught the cloudiness of my watch and immediately asked about the moisture and literally told me exactly what I was experiencing. I was shocked how much she knew from a 1/2 second glance of my wrist.
True, it is water “resistant”, but it’s not waterproof. There’s no actual benefit to leaving it on around water with potential submersion, only risk. The gaskets meant to keep moisture out don’t go unaffected by chlorinated pool water, hot water, and especially salt water.
