This strap has been worn although sparingly and remains in excellent condition.A really nice strap to set your watch apart from others, even if it’s not a Panerai! Material : Premium calfskin has been artificially aged to perfection and is a beautiful light brown color. Thickness : 4.0mmThe 74 Serie (and any other Gunny Strap) can be made to your exact specifications and features a flat, polished buckle. The strap shown in this review measures 26/26 and 140/85. In my opinion, the 74 Serie is a “must have” for any Panerai owner who is looking for a realistic, vintage vibe. I believe part of it has to do with an older publication with a photo of a vintage/military-issue Panerai - it was wearing a tan leather strap with the number 74 printed on it. This may be designed to look like it was "issued" to "74" or something similar.
There are a few many sayings about the history of the 74 straps, unfortunately the only definitive thing that we know of, is a photo of a Panerai watch attached to a 74 strap from the 2011.The iconic “74” on the buckle is done cleanly and precisely on these 26mm straps compared to a lot of other designers that have attempted to make this strap.
