We especially like the shrunk down size which makes the watch more palatable for the wrist.Thanks in part to the hand-wound P.999/1 in-house movement, the Radiomir 1940 PAM00512 is not only relatively small in diameter, but in thickness too. A personal bugbear of mine has been the recent outward growth of Panerai watches, making them much too thick to fit under any cuff - let alone that of a shirt - and the 512 finally resolves this.
This transitional Radiomir is what Panerai has recreated in the new PAM00512. And while the 1940 case was introduced last year in a 47mm size, it's now available in 42mm, and that is just awesome.
