Hi, had some fantastic advice from forum members recently who advised on the recent purchase of a 1601 that although appeared complete and all original came with questionable bracelet and box. I was able to return thankfully. Lesson learnt but still in the market for a 1601 black dial.

The steel/silver tuxedo dial is one of my DJ top 2 choices. I found it to be pleasantly different looking and a bit sporty. I especially liked the roulette date feature- gave it a little extra zing. If I wore more black I would have equally considered the black/silver tuxedo face. I may have a chance to buy a Datejust 1601 with what I can tell is the 1570 movement off a late friend's estate. If no one in the family buys it, I'm going to buy it to keep it in good hands -- since it was one of my best friend's watches. Which has brought me to the Rolex Datejust, and the 1601, very budget friendly, classic design, ubiquitous in watchdome, many variations, and a reputable reliably rugged movement that should last me a while.
