My issue is the date wheel on the 2824. The jumper mechanism is different to the 2836 and I think therefore that the under proflie of the date wheel is also different from the pics I've looked at. Therefore it seems that the date wheels are not directly interchangeble.

I'm guessing that complication has been replaced by the GMT mechanism. I read this in the operating instruction of a watch with ETA2836-2 movement. Setting the Day and Date. Do not set your watch between 8 pm and 2 am. This will seriously damage the watch, and such damage is not covered under the XXXXX XXXX warranty. It's not absolutely necessary to tweak the GMT hand. You can also turn the bezel and set the 24 hour markers into desired "timezone" position to match your GMT hand.
