That being said, there are three things that I’ve noticed around the entire Rolex “Supply” situation. 1. Rolex doesn’t care if there is a “shortage” of watches, because they don’t . That being said, there are three things that I’ve noticed around the entire Rolex “Supply” situation. 1. Rolex doesn’t care if there is a “shortage” of watches, because they don’t determine the demand. What I mean by this is that Rolex is going to make a finite amount of watches each year. Rolex is unusual in that it makes nearly every part of its watches, but if even one sourced component or material is delayed or unavailable, everything can stop. And even simple, time-only mechanical watches contain over a hundred tiny parts. The best accuracy so far was +1.4s after 28 days, i.e. +0.5 s/d on average. The worst was -2.5 s/d over a week. However, an insufficient lubrication on the second pivot was reported as the reason for sudden drops in accuracy in some 3235 movements irrespectively of the watch model (DJs for example were affected too). I have one of the newer (1 yr old) 32xx movement Rolexes and it keeps great time. Something like +1s/week if that. My other Rolex has the 31xx movement and is 30+ yrs old. and that's more like +10s/week. My new JLC Moon which cost more than both is more like -3s/day.
Just curious if the 32XX movement problems have extended to the no-date variant, caliber 3230. Any submariner or OP owners (new releases of 2020) out there with the same movement problem as the 3235?? Specifically, losing time or discovering low amplitude on the movement. Thanks in advance.

While there have been some comments (from Bas, as I recall) that fewer 32XX movements seem to be in need of servicing, I am not aware of any specific determination of the cause of, much less the solution for, the problem. Until Rolex themselves confirm the problem and a permanent fix, I will assume the problem has not been cured. I posted about a year ago hoping to find the fix to the issues plaguing the 3235 movement. My post at the time was to find a reason and solution to the issue. While there were many interesting replies, no long term fix was ever found. That was the case until now. Although the supply of Rolex watches may have briefly been disrupted by production and supply chain problems at the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, that's not the reason they're so hard to. Now, Rolex is backing up their position that they really do want to put a watch on your wrist with the announcement of new and even temporary production facilities. What does this mean for watch lovers? How and when is Rolex boosting production?
