Sub isn’t flashy at all compared to many Rolex models. A Datejust with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet is a lot more flashy in the office than the Sub, and then the solid gold models are even more flashy. A Datejust with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet is a lot more flashy in the office than the Sub, and then the solid gold models are even more flashy.Buying a yellow gold, rose gold, or even two-tone timepiece is going to attract attention wherever you go, but opting for a white gold option gives you the value of the precious metal in a much less flashy package. I think jubilee and fluted is just a bit too flashy for me. But jubilee on smooth or oyster and fluted are two excellent choices. I'm very interested in a jubilee, smooth, rhodium w/ sticks DJ.

The Blue TT Sub provides the most flash for the money in Rolex world . Most complimented on, in my whole collection . It is in my opinion an iconic reference since 1988 .
The most significant and important opinion is your own about what watch to get, BUT all gold Rolexes (even just all watches) aren't really my preference. I find them a little too showy whereas I'm an understated guy. I would say Rolex’s reputation does lend itself to have its watches seem flashy but the actual watches themselves I would say are pretty tool-like. A gold daydate DJ, that leopard print Daytona, the rainbow bezel Daytona, some of them sky dwellers, are probably flashy. Unless you get the white gold or platinum, it will look flashy on a person of any age. Just my opinion. If you want understated then get the Datejust, Oyster Perpetual, Explorer 1 or II. I tend to find most Rolex watches too flashy/bulky/whatever. This is the first time I'm seeing a Rolex I find beautiful. The light blue is just lovely with the subtle two-tone. She certainly is a beauty, I sometimes find my Franck Muller a bit dressy but I really do love the platinum blue combo.
The gold scratches easily so the lower side of the bracelet is kinda beat up (be careful with yours about that, if you care about this kind of wear). But the dial is still amazing and lights up in sunlight like nothing else.Rather than a rainbow I wish they would make the stones in a GMT Batman style. All blue half circle up top with a bottom half circle of either black/regular diamonds in white gold. That would be flashy/classy in my book.
