Dec 10, 2017. I understand many are against the use of protective filters, but for those who do choose to use them, please recommend a quality filter to protect the lens of my new RX10 IV. I was thinking of getting a B+W 72mm XS-Pro Clear MRC-Nano 007 Filter.
I designed a 5x10 cm filter board that clips to the main board and fits into the standard enclosure. It has transmit low pass filters for 160 to 10 meters, and a 3 MHz high pass filter for receive. .Hermes-Lite 2 is a low-cost direct down/up conversion software defined amateur radio HF transceiver based on broadband modem chip and Hermes SDR project.The board plugs into the Hermes Lite 2 main board and replaces the 2x20 jumper that connects to the N2ADR filter board. James Ahlstrom, N2ADR, has developed a filter board that can be easily connected to the Hermes-Lite 2.0; it provides filters for the TX output to reduce its output harmonics and spurs and a RX high-pass filter that can be used to remove strong broadcasts signals below 2 MHz. A completed Hermes-Lite 2.0 and N2ADR companion filter card in the recommended enclosre are pictured below. For best accuracy, calibrate the power meter against a known reference with repeated readings.
